Peugeot – Mitsubishi join hands
23 July 2007Peugeot and Mitsubishi join hands. These auto makers have entered into a deal where Peugeot will supply Mitsubishi Motors with 2.2 liter common rail, direct-injection diesel engine, parts and accessories with particulate filter. The engine has environmental friendly features which adhere to Euro IV emission standards. The diesel engine is also fuel efficient.
The automaker – Mitsubishi makes this move to overcome the over whelming losses which it has faced in the first quarter of the last year. It has made plans to give no more open field to its competitors.
This 2.2 liter diesel engine is the result of research, study and testing done by PSA Peugeot and Ford Motor Corporation, which is specially designed for Mitsubishi cars. The car’s body parts are designed to accommodate the diesel engine and help in responsiveness of Mitsubishi cars. This engine is designed to give a better and even air and fuel combination. This feature helps in reducing the running noise on one hand, and on the other it increased the car performance coupled with 30 percent reduction is pollution.
The Mitsubishi vehicles that will get this diesel engine is the Outlander SUV which is due to be released in Europe soon and the car manufacturer will also use the diesel engine in its C-Cross and4007 vehicles.
Mitsubishi marks the 2010 as the year when Lancer will get the diesel engine, with high performance fuel efficient parts and accessories.
