21 June 2007A helmet is used to provide safety and protection from getting seriously injured in any severe crash situation. This utensil gives great protection to the motorcycle riders. It is a good face guard, provides absolute protection to the rider’s head and ear.
Helmets are made from plastics, fiberglass and Kevlar. The inside section of helmets is made by fabric and foam. This structure of interior gives comfort and safety to the rider. The use of the foam liner is to crush during a crash. The outer layer of the helmet is usually made of hard material that would protect the skull from getting fit by a hard surface in case of accidents.
Helmets are classified by the features. It can be normally separated in three types.
1) Full face helmet
2) 3/4 face helmet
3) 1/2 face helmet
Full face helmet covers full head, ears, cheeks and even the chin of the user. This type of helmet includes a good amount of protection. A plastic shield surround eyes but the problems are an increased level of heat and reduced level of hearing.
3/4 face helmet covers only back of the head not the chin section. It gives same back protection like a full face helmet, but not really protection for the face completely.
1/2 helmets protects the head only. Its is strapped at the chin by the strap or the band. This type of helmet provides minimum protection and does not sheltered full face.
