Daimler Chrysler set to win the race

How far can a car manufacturing company go in its quest to product fuel efficient and environmental friendly cars? This is pretty evident from the efforts made by Daimler Chrysler. The company is making all possible moves to build car parts and car engines that can run on bio-diesel and alternative fuels thus reducing the dependence on fossil fuel as the source of energy for the automobile.

In partnership with Cummins, Daimler Chrysler has managed to produce engines powered by bio-diesel fuel. The first car to roll out of the plant with this engine will be Dodge Ram 2500 and Dodge Ram 3500 vehicles. These 6.7 liter turbo engines Cummins diesel engine can run on B20 and B5 bio-diesel fuels.

Going further, the Company also intends to produce flexi fuel engines. With the help of this performance part i.e.: flexi fuel engine the cars made my Daimler Chrysler will be able to work on alternative fuels like bio-ethanol and electric.

Ambitious plans of the Company to produce Hybrid, fuel efficient car’s fleet that could run on E85 fuel will lead them to produce 250,000 units. These cars will be equipped car performance parts and car accessories that would run on bio-diesel and other alternate sources of fuel. By the end of year 2008, the company plans to double the quantity fuel efficient and environmental cars.
